Lloyd’s announced on 14 January that Jon Hancock is to leave his role as Performance Management Director of Lloyd’s during 2020. Having presented to our London client meeting in 2017, Mr Hancock is well known to clients of Argenta. He also spoke at a number of other names’ events during his tenure at Lloyd’s, including those of the Association of Lloyd’s Members and of the High Premium Group.

Over the past two years, Mr Hancock has led a more rigorous business planning process for syndicates, with a focus on returning the market to world class underwriting performance. The fruits of the intensive processes are beginning to be seen in a return to more disciplined and attractive market conditions in Lloyd’s and beyond. He has also been instrumental in setting out the strategy for the market in the Future of Lloyd’s initiative, becoming a leader in Blueprint One as Lloyd’s seeks to become the world’s most advanced insurance market place.

We understand that Mr Hancock will be seeking a role in the commercial market when his contract at Lloyd’s is complete. We at Argenta Private Capital Limited wish him well in the next stage of his career.

Jon Hancock is the third permanent Performance Management Director since the role was created in 2003. The importance of the role has grown with each incumbent. Lloyd’s has embarked on a global search to find a successor.

Lloyd’s also announced two new appointments to its Executive Committee. Julia Tyson joins as Chief Human Resources Officer. Ms Tyson was previously HR and Communications Director at LV= and prior to that was Group HRD at Wates Group. Jo Scott has been promoted to the role of Chief Marketing and Communications Officer; Ms Scott has been with Lloyd’s for 15 years, most recently as Head of Brand, Marketing and Communications.
